Bringing Change to Japan

Every year Campus Ministry Board holds a penny drive during Lent to fulfill the Catholic commitment to alms-giving.  In the wake of the earthquake in Japan CMB decided to dedicate all the proceeds to the relief effort in Japan rather than letting the winning class pick a charity at the culmination of the Lenten Season.  With a specific cause in mind, many students are sacrificing the change they would usually spend on snacks from the machines and instead walking across Good Hall and placing the money in the jars.  Students earn points for their own team by putting pennies in their jars and students target other teams by putting quarters, dimes, and dollar bills in the jars earning negative points for other grades.  Ultimately, the winner is the class with the most points (or in most cases the LEAST amount of negative points).
